Assessment accommodation

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to establish pool of qualified candidates that may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (i.e. indeterminate, term, deployment, acting, assignment and secondment).

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Information regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Successful completion of two years of secondary school or employer-approved alternatives.

• The employer-approved alternatives to two years of secondary school are: A satisfactory score on the PSC test approved as an alternative to two years of secondary school; or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
*Candidates invited to an interview will be required to bring proof of their education credentials, in the form of a diploma or official transcript.

Degree equivalency

• Completed training in Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) database.

• Significant* and recent** experience providing administrative support services in a law enforcement, judicial or quasi-judicial environment.
>>"Significant experience" is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with full time performance of duties for a cumulative period of 6 months.
** "Recent experience" is defined as within the last 2 years.


• Training and experience*** in using the Police Reporting and Occurrence System (PROS) database.
*** “Experience" is defined as within the last 2 years.

• Ability to communicate effectively in writing.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

• A secondary school diploma.

Degree equivalency

• Experience liaising with court representatives or officials, or preparing court disclosure packages.
• Experience maintaining a law enforcement database such as: RCMP TEAM Portal (TEAM), Police Access Tool (PAT), Automated Criminal Intelligence Information System (ACIIS), or National Criminal Data Bank (NCDB).
• Experience providing financial support services. (Services may include, but are not limited to, verifying and correcting financial claims, controlling and monitoring petty cash, preparing financial status reports, etc.)
• Experience in providing records management services such as indexing, cross-referencing, filing, retrieving, retaining, archiving or destroying data.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Willing and able to work in a busy police environment, including exposure to unsettling and/or graphic material.
Willingness and ability to work overtime, as required.
Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Willingness and ability to travel for work and/or training purposes using various modes of transportation.

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance - RCMP Enhanced Reliability Status (ERS) security clearance - NOTE: Successful candidates will require a valid RCMP security clearance prior to appointment and throughout the tenure of their employment. The process to obtain RCMP security clearance involves a security/reliability interview and a field investigation regarding matters of criminal activity which includes reference checks, verification of credit/financial status, education, employment, etc. As such, the process may take several weeks or months to complete.
