The intent of this process is to fill one indeterminate position, in Winnipeg, MB.

Although the immediate intent of this job opportunity advertisement is to staff indeterminately, applicants should be aware that a pool of qualified candidates (fully assessed or partially assessed) may be established and may be used to staff similar positions at this group and level with various security requirements, various Conditions of Employment and/or various tenures within the Canadian Grain Commission.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION:
- Graduation with a master’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in chemistry* or in a field relevant to the duties of the position.

*Note: If you have not completed a program leading to a degree in chemistry, general chemistry courses and the five traditional sub-disciplines of chemistry (organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, and biological chemistry) will be considered to determine if your degree of specialization in chemistry is sufficient.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
- Significant* experience in conducting chemical or biochemical analyses and validating analytical methods.
- Experience in providing scientific, technical, quality or regulatory related recommendations and advice to management, staff or colleagues.
- Recent** experience writing quality management documents such as policies, procedures, guides, as well as reports and presentations.
- Recent** experience in large data management and statistical analysis.
- Significant* and recent** experience in managing staff, budgets and projects

*Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with full-time performance of duties for a minimum period of 3 years.
**Recent experience is defined as experience obtained within the last 5 years

- Graduation with a doctoral degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in chemistry or in a field relevant to the position.

Degree equivalency

ASSET EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in consulting and negotiating with clients or partners.
- Experience in managing multidisciplinary groups or committees.
- Experience in analytical methods related to grain quality or safety.
- Experience working with analytical methods accredited under ISO/IEC 17025.
- Experience with audits in laboratories with analytical methods accredited under ISO/IEC 17025
