Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) works collaboratively with partners to improve access to high quality services for First Nations, Inuit and Métis. Our vision is to support and empower Indigenous Peoples to independently deliver services and address the socio-economic conditions in their communities.

The First Nations and Inuit Health Branch supports the delivery of primary care services on-reserve in remote and isolated areas, where there are no provincial services readily available.

EDUCATION

Graduation with a Bachelor of nursing degree from a recognized post-secondary institution

Degree equivalency

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION

Current registration as a Registered Nurse in the province/territory of employment in Canada and a member in good standing in that province/territory.

EXPERIENCE

Experience managing a health care program
Experience using spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel or a computer database system such as Electronic Service Delivery Reporting Template
Experience developing partnerships with First Nations or health service leaders
Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in nursing

Conditions of employment

Reliability Security Clearance
Pre-employment medical may be required
Possession of a valid driver’s licence or the personal mobility to the degree associated with the possession of a valid driver’s licence
Availability for regional and inter-provincial travel is required. Incumbents may be required to travel by vehicle or small fixed wing aircraft, and occasionally into remote northern locations
Availability for flexible or irregular work hours
Overtime in the event of a Public Health emergency or outbreak
Continuous professional registration in good standing with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses’ Association
