Successful completion of a 3 year accredited technology program from a recognized post-secondary institution in materials, metallurgical, civil, manufacturing or mechanical engineering
- Experience in mechanical testing including experimental design, equipment set-up, basic programming using standard machine commands, calibration, instrumentation and monitoring, and maintenance
- Experience in control software programming using Python & LabVIEW
- Experience with a range of mechanical testing methods, procedures and techniques
- Experience in compiling, analysing and storing data from experiments
Asset Qualifications
- Experience with MTS controllers (this may be used for initial screening)
- Experience with optical strain mapping based on digital image correlation and/or video extensometer
- Experience with Zwick and/or Instron controllers
