Assessment accommodation

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff one (1) permanent position in Coronation, AB. A qualified pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions on a term and/or permanent basis in Eastern Alberta District within the RCMP. The pool could be used to offer acting appointments, assignments, secondments or deployments.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Furthermore, CM staffing transactions resulting from this process will be administered in accordance with the Onboarding Transition Phase.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Successful completion of two years of secondary school, or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience*

Degree equivalency

Experience providing administrative support services* to a team or a manager

Experience in using MS Excel, e-mail, and MS Word

Experience in providing service to clients by telephone, in person or in writing

*Administrative support services could include duties such as managing someone else’s daily schedule, planning and/or coordinating meetings, preparing and/or coordinating incoming/outgoing correspondence, maintaining electronic and hard copy file systems, taking meeting minutes, etc

Ability to communicate effectively in writing.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Experience maintaining a law enforcement database such as: Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC), Police Information Retrieval Systems (PIRS), Police Reporting and Occurrence System (PROS), Automated Criminal Intelligence Information System (ACIIS), National Criminal Data Bank (NCDB), Evidence and Reports III (E&R III)

Experience liaising with court representatives or officials, or preparing court disclosure packages

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance - NOTE: Successful candidates will require a valid RCMP security clearance prior to appointment and throughout the tenure of their employment. The process to obtain RCMP security clearance involves a security/reliability interview and a field investigation regarding matters of criminal activity which includes reference checks, verification of credit/financial status, education, employment, etc. As such, the process may take several weeks or months to complete.
