A pool of partially qualified candidates will be established and may be used to staff similar positions within Shared Services Canada in various locations across Canada. Other government departments may use this staffing process to appoint a candidate to its organization in a similar position.

EDUCATION:

Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed, OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

At the manager's discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum post-secondary education stated above. Whenever the minimum education is met via this alternative, it is met for the specific position only and must be re-assessed for other positions for which this alternative has been specified by the manager.

Employees in the CS occupational group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education level prescribed above are deemed to meet the education requirement based on their education, training and experience

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

EX1. Significant* experience managing or leading multi-disciplinary teams in IT.

EX2. Significant* experience leading or contributing to a complex*** project, initiative or activity, or supporting and delivering IM/IT Service.

EX3. Recent** experience in the management of human and financial resources

EX4. Recent** experience providing strategic advice and recommendations to senior management on complex*** issues ***.

Experience definition:
*Significant means two (2) or more years of combined experience.

**Recent means in the last five (5) years.

***Complex projects / issues are with at least two (2) of the following characteristics: multidimensional, sensitive, confidential, affecting many partners or stakeholders, precedent setting, having a major impact on your organization.

ASSET EXPERIENCE:

AE1. Experience in managing Security Assessment & Authorization function/team following ITSG-33 framework and/or Harmonized Threat and Risk Assessment methodology.
AE2. Experience in managing Communications Security, Facilities & Emissions Security function/team within the Government of Canada.
AE3. Experience in managing IT Vulnerability Assessment & Compliance Management function incorporating vulnerability scanning, analysis, prioritization, compliance oversight.
AE4. Experience in managing and/or conducting IT & Cyber Threat analysis & reporting function in support of IT Governance.
AE5. Experience in the development and implementation of IT security policies, procedures, and standards based on Government of Canada (GC) or National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), best practices, and compliance requirements.
AE6. Experience in the design, implementation and support of an enterprise security solution.
AE7. Experience in analyzing information and reports in the Cyber and IT Security Domain.
AE8. Experience in implementing, supporting or testing IT security solutions within multi-zoned data center environments.
