Duties

→ Provides advice, expertise and interpretative guidance to the field and on projects.
→ Reviews foodservice designs for new kitchens.
→ Carries out analytical studies and manages foodservice projects.
→ Coordinates and monitors programs and activities related to the operation of the foodservice program.

Although the immediate intent of this Job Opportunity Advertisement is to staff indeterminately, applicants should be aware that a pool of qualified candidates (fully assessed or partially assessed) may be established and may be used to staff similar positions at this group and level with various language requirements listed in the Language Requirements section. In addition, this process may be used for various tenures, security requirements and conditions of employment within the Correctional Service of Canada. In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION

EED1: Secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.

EXPERIENCE

EEX1: Experience in managing a high volume food services operation such as that found in a correctional, military, hospital, hotel, cafeteria or other similar environment
EEX2: Significant* experience in providing advice and options on complex issues in an operational foodservice environment
EEX3: Significant* experience in analyzing the efficiency of an operation and in developing cost-effective procedures and standards

Notes:
*Significant is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally acquired over a two (2) year period

Degree equivalency

KNOWLEDGE

EK1: Knowledge of the principles of Food Service management
EK2: Knowledge of the standards and practices of a Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point environment and a Food Service safety and sanitation compliance program
EK3: Knowledge of high volume Cook Chill operation and processes

ABILITIES

EA1: Ability to organize and set priorities
EA2: Ability to analyze issues and requests to formulate findings and recommendations
EA3: Ability to analyze and interpret financial data such as inventory, food costs, etc.
EA4: Ability to communicate effectively orally
EA5: Ability to communicate effectively in writing

AED2: Diploma of a recognized professional culinary arts school or red seal in commercial food service or equivalent
AED3: Certification in a field of study related to Food Service Management
AED4: Certification in Food Safety or Quality Assurance

EXPERIENCE

AEX1: Experience in the design and provision of training materials and courses
AEX2: Experience working with a Foodservice information management system
AEX3: Experience in analyzing Food Service designs
AEX4: Experience in project or program management
AEX5: Experience in cook chill process or operations
AEX6: Experience in procurement and contracting of goods and services

Degree equivalency
