Internships are located in Ottawa/Gatineau, The Greater Toronto Area, Fredericton, Halifax, St. John's and Victoria.

Permanent residents or Canadian citizens who have been in Canada for 10 years or less and who are currently residing or are employed in the National Capital Region or within a 125 kilometer radius of Ottawa (ON) / Gatineau (QC), within Canadian territory extending to, amongst others, Pembroke (ON) or Maniwaki (QC).

The Greater Toronto Area (ON):
Permanent residents or Canadian citizens who have been in Canada for 10 years or less and who are currently residing or are employed in Toronto (ON) or within a 125 kilometer radius of Toronto (ON), within Canadian territory extending to, amongst others, Port Colborne (ON), Woodstock (ON), Midland (ON) or Peterborough (ON).

Fredericton (NB):

To create a pool of candidates that may be used to staff casual* positions in the above-mentioned locations in various organizations within the federal, provincial, or municipal public service.

The Application Process:

- When answering the pre-screening questions, you must provide specific examples to clearly demonstrate how you meet the qualifications (education and experience, essential and asset). During the initial screening process, the Screening Board will review the applications to assess if the required qualifications have been demonstrated by candidates. Invitations to interviews will be based on the screening results.
- Receipt of applications will not be sent; only candidates successful in the screening process will be contacted.

The Assessment Process:
- It is your responsibility to ensure that, during this selection process, you communicate any changes related to your email address to the contact provided in this advertisement.
- You will be asked to submit your resume if you qualify in a FIN Program pool.
- A written exam may be administered in some cases.
- Assessments and interviews will be conducted at the location of the employer's choice between June and August. If you do not attend assessments at the scheduled date and time, your application might be rejected. Candidates will be given at least 48 hours’ notice of interview and must be available.
- Tests may be administered during the day or evening.
- References for candidates will be sought by employers during the hiring stage.
- The Immigrant Serving Organization indicated in your application will be contacted to verify that you were screened for job readiness.
- Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada's management may choose one or more Asset Qualifications at the pre-screening stage to determine the number of applicants who will advance to the following stage of the selection process.

The Hiring Process:
- Please note that even if you qualify to be placed in a pool, there is no guarantee that you will be offered a position. The number and types of positions available in a given Program year are subject to the demand of partnering organizations.
- If successful, your application may be shared within IRCC and with other hiring public sector organizations for potential employment opportunities.
- This selection process will be used by various departments, agencies and organizations.
- Please note that travel or relocation expenses will NOT be reimbursed by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada or any other hiring departments/organizations.
