WORK LOCATIONS:
Please note that although IITB is a national organization, some of the positions staffed as a result of this process will require a location in the NCR.
A pool of qualified candidates may be established in order to staff similar positions within the Innovation, Information and Technology Branch (IITB) In the capital national region, with various language requirements (Bilingual imperative BBB/BBB, English essential, French essential).

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION :
Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
Notes :
1. Indeterminate period incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standards based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the CS group.
2. It is the recognized educational institution (e.g. community college, CÉGEP or university) that determines if the courses taken by a candidate correspond to two years of a post-secondary program at the institution.
3. At the manager's discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum post-secondary education stated above. Whenever the minimum education is met using this alternative, it is met for the specific position only and must be re-assessed for other positions for which the manager has specified this alternative.
EXPERIENCE :
Definition of experience: Experience is defined as experience gained through employment, studies, volunteer work or an acceptable combination for a minimum period of one (1) year in the IM/IT field.
*Recent is defined as experience normally acquired within the last three (3) years.
EX1 Recent* experience performing database administration type-activities such as: backup, recovery, tuning, troubleshooting OR monitoring of a database for MS SQL Server 2012 or higher OR Oracle 11g or higher.
EX2 Recent* experience in developing and maintaining PL/SQL or SQL database scripts.
EX3 Recent* experience in dealing with clients OR external stakeholders in support of IM/IT Systems.
EX4 Recent* experience in solving database problems and issues.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS :
AED Bachelor's degree in one of the following programs: computer engineering, computer science, information technology, information management.
EXPERIENCES :
AEX1 Experience in T-SQL.
AEX2 Recent* experience in managing database security.
AEX3 Experience in planning, implementing and troubleshooting a high availability database environment.
AEX4 Experience using diagnostic tools to monitor SQL Server databases and server resources.
AEX5. Occupational Certification: Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate: SQL Server 2012 or higher.
AEX6 Experience with Unix/Linux scripting.
AEX7 Recent* experience in performing database migration to new version.
AEX8 Experience with any of the following: TOAD, SQL Developer, SQL*Plus OR Team foundation Server (TFS).
