Intent of the process

A pool of partially qualified candidates may be established to staff similar positions in various locations within the Department of Justice with various tenures (indeterminate, term, casuals, acting appointments, deployments, secondments/assignments and Interchange Canada), various language requirements and various security levels.

If a pool is established following this selection process, all federal organizations listed in Schedules I, IV and V of the Financial Administration Act (FAA) will be able to use it in order to staff similar positions across Canada. In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION:

(ED1) Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Notes:

1.Indeterminate period incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standards based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the CS group.

2.It is the recognized educational institution (e.g. community college, CÉGEP or university) that determines if the courses taken by a candidate correspond to two years of a post-secondary program at the institution.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

(EX1) Significant **experience leading IM/IT projects or IM/IT operations.
(EX2) Significant** experience providing advice and recommendations to management*** on IM/IT technical issues related to the planning, deployment, implementation, integration or maintenance of a departmental IM/IT systems and infrastructure.
(EX3) Recent* experience in managing human resources, managing or supervising consultants or project team members.
(EX4) Significant** and recent* experience in financial management.

(DEFINITIONS):

Wherever “IM/IT” (Information Management (IM) / Information Technology (IT)) systems is indicated, it is to be interpreted as “IM or IT”.

*Recent refers to experience normally acquired within approximately the last five (5) years of work.
**Significant experience is understood to mean the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of complex activities related to this task, which are normally acquired over a period of two (2) years within the last 5 years.
***Management is defined as Director (CS-05/EX-01 or equivalent) and above.

EDUCATION (ASSET):

(AED1) Graduation from a recognized post-secondary institution with a master's degree in library science or in library and information science.

EXPERIENCE (ASSET):

(AEX1) Experience working in the development of .Net, GCDocs, or SharePoint.
(AEX2) Experience in developing and configuring applications using Microsoft CRM Dynamics or managing teams that develop using Microsoft CRM Dynamics.
(AEX3) Experience managing a team for Electronic Document and Records Management Solutions.
(AEX4) Experience in one or more of the following IT Security domains: Risk Assessments, Vulnerability Assessments, incident management, OR IT Security Operations.
(AEX5) Experience developing departmental level enterprise architecture strategies and associated artefacts.
(AEX6) Experience liaising with multi-business units, subject matter experts and staff in support of IM/IT -Enabled initiatives (i.e. planning, portfolio management, project management office).
(AEX7) Experience and active participation in the development and management of departmental IM/IT plans, governance, or directives/guidelines.
