Would you like to help make Canada a better place for Indigenous peoples, communities and northern residents? Are you a First Nations, Métis or Inuit individual? Apply to this inventory and become an asset for the organization!
At Indigenous Services Canada, we work in collaboration with partners to improve access to high quality services for First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities. Our vision is to support and empower indigenous communities so that they can independently provide services and address the different socio-economic conditions in their communities.
The First Nations and Inuit Health Branch (FNIHB) supports the delivery of public health and health promotion services on-reserve and in Inuit communities. It also provides drug, dental and ancillary health services to First Nations and Inuit, regardless of residence. The Branch also provides primary health care on reserves in remote and isolated areas where provincial services are not readily available. FNIHB works closely with First Nations and Inuit organizations and communities to carry out many activities to help individuals stay healthy and prevent chronic and infectious diseases.
With the well-being of our employees at heart, we offer an open and respectful work environment with many learning opportunities, advancement possibilities, competitive benefits, as well as flexible schedules that promote work-life balance.
Indigenous cultures are at the heart of the department's mandate and broadening our horizons about them not only allows us to better fulfill our role, but also raises our awareness of First Nations, Métis and Inuit history. This is why we recognize the importance for employees to learn, share and discover about this subject through workshops and awareness activities throughout the year.
The regional office is located in the heart of urban life in the Guy-Favreau Complex in Montreal. The accessibility to many businesses surrounding the building will charm you!
At the time this job opportunity was published, Indigenous Services Canada employees had not yet returned to their workplace due to the context of COVID-19. Therefore, the successful candidates may have to work remotely until further notice. The official workplace for these positions is located in Montreal. Depending on the needs and requirements of the service, the possibility of a telework arrangement could be considered. The request will be assessed in accordance with the provisions of the Directive on Telework.
