As a Benefits Officer, you will have to provide a timely, courteous and accurate service by helping to effectively process the Employment Insurance applications. Frequently, you will have to make a difference by handling urgent cases, under tight deadlines, in order to help clients facing a stressful situation. Here is a list of tasks that you may be called upon to perform.
• Gathering information from clients and employers in order to process applications in accordance with procedures and guidelines
• Rendering decisions with respect to eligibility and entitlement to benefits by applying applicable acts and regulations
• Explaining the reasons for entitlement and non-entitlement to benefits to clients who are sometimes dissatisfied with the decision
• Responding to enquiries from various stakeholders and the general public on all aspects of Employment Insurance
• Participating in the exchange of constructive ideas with the purpose of continuous improvement during team meetings

To fill 12 positions in the beginning of summer 2020 at the Laval Processing Center. The evaluations of the candidates will take place during spring.

EDUCATION:
Secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives (a satisfactory score on the PSC test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience).

Experience* in delivering services or programs to the general public involving obtaining and providing information requiring explanation or clarification.
Experience* in interpreting and applying legislation or policies.
