Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff two (2) bilingual imperative positions. This process will be used to establish a pool of candidates that may be used to staff similar bilingual imperative positions of various tenures within Global Affairs Canada (GAC).

Position 1 – Senior Analyst, Trade Commissioner Service Tools, Analysis and Performance (BBB/BBB)
Position 2 – Senior Analyst, Consular Program Management and Analytics (CBC/CBC)

The answers provided to the screening questions will be the main source of information used to evaluate applicants. "Asset qualifications" could be used either at the screening phase or to determine which candidate will be appointed. Therefore, if candidates meet the asset qualifications, they should also describe in the related screening questions how they meet these qualifications using detailed and concrete examples.

EDUCATION:

ED1: Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics or statistics.

Note: Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

E1: Experience in applying research methods and conducting statistical analysis to support evidence informed decision making.
E2: Significant* experience working with large structured and unstructured data sets to test hypotheses, build models or guide evidence-informed decision-making using data analysis tools such as R, Python or Excel.
E3: Significant* experience in communicating the results of analysis through reports, briefings and presentations to management** and relevant stakeholders.
E4: Experience building effective working relationships with multiple stakeholders.

*Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with full-time performance of duties for a minimum period of two (2) years within the last five (5) years.

** Management defined as Director-level and above.

ASSET - EDUCATION:
