Key Activities:
Water Resources Engineers at all levels remain focused on the data collection, analysis and timely dissemination of water resources information. The incumbent must understand the broad scope of water resources engineering, and engage in scientific and technical analysis and evaluation of issues regarding water resources including the application of existing and emerging technologies. The ENG-03 must additionally be able to work independently and plan projects.
Boundary and Transboundary Waters
• Assist with the collection, processing, interpretation, correction, summary and presentation of water resources data to support boundary waters issues in Canada.
• Undertake naturalized flow analysis and reporting in support of agreements and commitments for GoC commitments for example, the St Mary and Milk Rivers.
• Partnership engagement.
The position will contribute to the delivery of the National Hydrological Services by providing water resources engineering and applied science expertise that supports the collection, interpretation and dissemination of standardized water resource data and information in Canada.
A pool of qualified candidates will be established and will be used to staff similar positions at the same group and level, with various linguistic requirements, on an indeterminate or temporary basis within Environment and Climate Change Canada.

Education:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, aeronautical engineering, geological engineering, naval architecture or some other engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position.
Experience*:
• Experience in writing technical documents, and would include experience during academic study.
• Experience in hydraulic or hydrologic data analysis, review and modelling, and would include experience during academic study.
• Experience in developing and maintaining partnerships with internal or external organizations, such as, provinces, territories, aboriginal governments, other federal departments, business groups or non-governmental organizations

Asset Qualifications:
Education:
• Post-graduate degree in engineering, geophysics or other related discipline.
• Currently registered as a professional Engineer in Canada
Experience:
• Experience with computer programming for data management or water resources applications
Knowledge:
• Knowledge of the International Joint Commission
Reliability Status security clearance
Conditions of employment:
• Driver’s license.
• Traveling, occasionally, possibly for extended periods of up to two or three weeks.
• Be available to work overtime.
• Work in remote locations and in extreme weather conditions.
• Occasionally conducting fieldwork, which may include working in and around water, walking in water and working on cabling, bridges or ice.
