Provision of mental health and assessment services of various types to federal offenders, both in institutions and in the community, aimed at their reintegration into society

EDUCATION
Graduation with a master’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in clinical, forensic or counseling psychology.
Specific coursework at the graduate level in one or more of the following areas: abnormal behaviour/psychopathology, psychological assessment, and/or psychological interventions.
OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
Registration for autonomous practice of psychology by a provincial or territorial registering/licensing body in Canada.
EXPERIENCE
Experience in the provision of psychological services (including mental health services), such as assessment, counseling or other psychological services with adults, either to groups or individuals.
EDUCATION
Doctorate from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in clinical, forensic or counseling psychology.
Training on the main tools for assessing the risk of sexual and violent recidivism (Psychopathy Checklist—revised (PCL-R), Violence Risk Appraisal Guide (VRAG-R), Historical, Clinical and Risk Management Guide-20 (HCR-20), Static-99R, Stable-2007).
EXPERIENCE
Experience in the provision of psychological services in forensic/correctional settings.

Information on employment equity
In an attempt to address recruitment and retention issues, the Employer will pay an allowance to certified psychologists with a Master's or Doctoral degree for the performance of duties as psychologists in the Health Services Group at the Correctional Service of Canada. The parties agree that employees who are psychologists performing the duties of the above positions shall be eligible to receive a "Terminable Allowance" in the following amounts (subject to conditions): $6,000 for certified psychologists with a Master's degree and $12,000 for certified psychologists with a Doctorate degree.
Preference will be given to veterans and to Canadian citizens, in that order, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
