The BIM manager is responsible for developing and monitoring the BIM Implementation Plan (BIP) for the Center of Expertise - professional and technical services. He coordinates the deployment of the BIM approach by the staff of the organization and acts in support of the employees for its implementation.
Role and responsibilities:
• Ensure added value to the various activities of the organization with the BIM approach and that its implementation allows BIM objectives to be achieved.
• Offer and manage staff training and support to enable the implementation of BIM processes.
• Management of the BIM workflow in the Expertise Center, as well as software management, including the incorporation of new versions and customization, support for BIM software and management of the associated database.
• Manage a team of BIM specialists.
• Develop and define the different data modeling strategies with the managers of each activity sector.
• Supervise and validate the conformity of deliverables.
• Monitor the availability and capacity of BIM resources necessary to achieve BIM objectives.
• Act as primary contact for BIM related issues.

This process will be used to staff one indeterminate position in Montreal with our Architectural and Engineering Services (AES) team, a sector of the real property branch at the Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC).
A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff identical or similar positions with various tenures (determinate, indeterminate), various linguistic requirements, various security requirements and for various locations at Public Services and Procurement Canada. Should the selected candidate already be a public servant, the pool could also be used for acting appointments

EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in architecture OR in mechanical engineering, civil engineering or electrical engineering.
OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
Canadian certification as an engineer or an architect.
EXPERIENCE
Recent experience* in writing work processes with 3D modeling.
Experience in integrating and deploying BIM processes within an organization.
Experience in interdisciplinary coordination using 3D models.
Experience in developing user guides for BIM tools.
Note:
* Recent experience means relevant experience of approximately 3 years in BIM acquired in the past 5 years.
KNOWLEDGE
-Knowledge and mastery of BIM management principles and inherent processes.
-Mastery of the main BIM software for modeling, construction, visualization, analysis and collaboration.
-Knowledge of standardized formats in the BIM environment such as BCF (bim collaboration format), IFC (industry foundation classes).
-Knowledge of collaboration platforms such as BIM360 or others.
