Immediate need:
⇨ To staff one (1) position on a full-time temporary basis within Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Temporary positions are not part EC Development Program (ECDP) which is a Professional Development and Apprenticeship Program at AAFC.
The pool can be used to staff similar positions with various linguistic profiles and security level requirements in AAFC.
The pool may be used to fill permanent positions that are part of the EC Development Program (ECDP) which is a Professional Development and Apprenticeship Program at AAFC. The ECDP aims to build a strong EC talent pool and to maximize the learning, development and mobility opportunities for participants. The Program focuses on learning and development opportunities that enable participants to achieve results and develop their qualifications to the EC-05 level. Graduation by September 2020, with a degree* from a recognized post-secondary institution with an acceptable specialization** in Economics, Sociology, or Statistics.
Note: *Degree: The term “degree” refers to a baccalaureate as established by educational authorities.
**The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. AAFC has established the minimum course requirement as two full courses in economics, sociology or statistics. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Experience preparing research and analysis in one or more of the following areas:

ASSESSEMENT INFORMATION
You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. Some essential and other qualifications will be assessed through your application. It is your responsibility to provide appropriate examples that illustrate how you meet each qualification. Failing to do so could result in your application being rejected.
All information obtained and communication relating to this process, including email correspondence, may be used in the assessment of qualifications and evaluation of candidates.
Depending on the number of applicants, volume management strategies such as random selection, top-down approach and/or establishing cut-off scores to determine who will continue in the staffing process, may be used for the purpose of managing applications. Please note that although you may attain the established pass mark on any of the assessments used in this staffing process, management may decide to use a higher cut off score.
A written examination and/or an interview may be administered.
Reference checks will be conducted and you will be asked to provide contact information for two employer references. Reference checks will be sought near the end of the selection process. The Assessment Committee reserves the right to contact references other than the ones submitted by the candidates if found necessary, in order to make a suitable assessment of the candidates.

Preference will be given to veterans and to Canadian citizens, in that order, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
