Duties

The position involves working within a team environment to analyze, develop, implement and/or assess project proposals and economic development issues related to Western Economic Diversification’s mandate to enhance economic development in Manitoba.

Intent of the process

This process may be used for various positions and tenures (including but not limited to term and indeterminate appointments, internal assignments, secondments, deployments, acting appointments) as well as various locations, security requirements, language requirements and conditions of employment.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education:
-Graduation with a degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in Commerce/Business, Economic, Public Administration, or other specialty relevant to the position
OR
-A recognized professional accounting designation (e.g. CPA, CGA)

Degree equivalency

Experience:
-Experience in participating in initiatives and projects that require the establishment of cooperative working relationships and providing client service to internal and/or external clients.
-Experience in conducting research, analyzing information, and summarizing key findings.
-Providing strategic advice and recommendations to management.

Knowledge:
-Knowledge of key economic and business trends influencing the western Canadian economy, with a specific emphasis on Manitoba, and how Western Economic Diversification supports economic development/diversification in Manitoba.

-Communication (oral & written)
-Demonstrating integrity and respect
-Thinking things through (Strategic thinking and judgment)
-Working effectively with others (teamwork)
-Showing initiative and being action oriented.

Asset Qualifications

Experience:
-Experience in projects that support the economic inclusion of underrepresented groups.
-Experience in conducting research, analyzing information, and summarizing key findings in one or more of the following areas:
• Advanced Manufacturing
• Agri-food
• Health Bio-Sciences
• Clean Technology
• Digital Industries
• Primary Industries

-Depth, breadth and scope of experience in any one or combination of the experience factors used in screening.
