This anticipatory process will be used to staff positions at the CR-05 and AS-01 group and level classifications. Applicants must clearly indicate which classification(s) they are applying for and must demonstrate on their application how they meet all essential criteria for the classification(s) they would like to be considered for.
If applicants apply to both classifications, the selection board will determine which classification(s) the application will be considered for, based on the information provided.
The RCMP has a wide variety of jobs to support our police officers, including, but not limited to records management, procurement, training and development, and communications.

The intent of this process is to create an inventory for future opportunities in Edmonton, Alberta and area. Applying to this selection process means you are applying to have your name added to our staffing inventory, which will be used to fill vacancies as they come up. These vacancies may be permanent or temporary employment. You are not applying to a specific job.
Applicants are encouraged to apply only if they are willing and able to work in or relocate to Edmonton, Alberta or within a 40 kilometer radius of Edmonton, AB.
Candidates from outside the federal public service will be required to pay for their own travel (including travel for assessment purposes), and may be required to pay for their own relocation expenses.
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment prior to May 21, 2020 (deeming date), the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Furthermore, CM staffing transactions resulting from this process will be administered in accordance with the Onboarding Transition Phase until deeming day.

• CR-05: Successful completion of two years of secondary school, or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience*.
• AS-01: A secondary school diploma, or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience*.
* Candidates invited to an interview will be required to bring proof of their education credentials in the form of a diploma or official transcript.
• Recent** experience working with Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel.
• Experience in coordinating administrative activities including: responding to incoming and/or outgoing correspondence, filing, preparing documents such as letters, briefing notes and/or reports.
** Recent experience signifies within the last two years.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
The following qualifications are not essential to any position, but they may be used as a deciding factor when choosing the person(s) to be appointed.
• Experience entering data into a database or spreadsheet.
• Experience providing financial support services (services may include, but are not limited to, verifying and correcting financial claims, controlling and monitoring petty cash, preparing financial status reports, etc.).
• Experience using a financial management system such as SAP.
• Experience maintaining a law enforcement database.
• Experience in providing records management services such as indexing, cross-referencing, filing, retrieving, retaining, archiving and/or destroying data.
• Experience transcribing statements from audio cassettes or digital media.
• Experience in providing services to internal and/or external clients.
• Experience in providing administrative support services to senior management.
• Experience providing administrative support in a police environment.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Willingness and ability to work in a busy police environment, including exposure to unsettling and/or graphic material.
• Willingness and ability to work overtime as required.
• Willingness and ability to travel for work and/or training purposes using various modes of transportation, including owned or leased government transport, commercial and light aircraft, up to and including remote locations.
• Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• RCMP Security Clearance
Successful applicants will be required to obtain and maintain an RCMP Security Clearance throughout their employment. Positions filled will have security clearance requirements at the following levels: RCMP Enhanced Reliability Status, Secret, or Top Secret. This requires a security/reliability interview and a field investigation in matters of criminal activities, credit/finances, education, employment, references, etc.

Preference will be given to veterans and to Canadian citizens, in that order, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
