This collective staffing process will be used to fill multiple bilingual positions in various branches of HC and PHAC in Ottawa.
All positions to be filled by this process are located in Ottawa, Ontario. Successful candidates, if not already located within the commuting distance, must be willing to relocate.
This collective process is for bilingual positions. At a minimum, intermediate second language proficiency (reading, writing, and speaking - BBB) is required for all positions. Successful completion of the Public Service Commission second-language evaluations will be required prior to hiring.
What does it mean to hold an Administrative position at HC and PHAC? It means that you may:
• Manage a Director’s agenda, answer general inquiries and redirect requests based on subject and urgency.
• Track requests and the status of outstanding issues.
• Coordinate the provision of administrative services for general office management.
• Coordinate and prepares correspondence related to financial, administrative, human resources and contract information and requirements.
• Provide financial administrative support for the Budget Management Cycle.
• Input financial data, invoices and cost recoveries, reconciliations of data between various systems, reports and accounting records.
• Participate in committees and work groups.
• May be required to supervise, monitor and coach staff.
The intent is to complete the assessment process as quickly as possible.
Should you meet the pre-screening criteria, a Situational Judgement Test (SJT) will be administered in March 2020. If you pass the SJT, interviews for this process will be completed via pre-recorded video interviews.

At least two (2) years of full-time experience working in an administrative support role.

Bilingual - Imperative (BBB/BBB)
At a minimum, the required second-language proficiency will be at the intermediate (BBB/BBB) level though some positions may require advanced proficiency (CBC/CBC).

Operational requirements will vary depending on the position being staffed and may include any of the following:

Possession of a valid driver's license
Ability to work in a laboratory environment
Ability to lift and move objects up to 22kg
Reliability Status security clearance - Some positions may require a Secret or Top Secret security clearance
