Duties

Provision of meals to offenders in an institution of the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) receiving most of their menu items from a CSC Regional Food Production Centre (RFPC) and where limited food production on site is required.

Supervision and training of offenders in the area of Food Services to improve their employability skills and behaviours.

We are looking for someone who is dynamic, resourceful, able to maintain excellent interpersonal relationships and who enjoys daily challenges. A pool of candidates will be created and may be used to staff similar positions within the Correctional Service of Canada in the Quebec region.

EDUCATION

A secondary school diploma or a satisfactory score on the PSC test approved or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.

and

Professional culinary arts diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

*Recent experience working as a short order and/or large quantity cook in a commercial or institutional setting. (* within the last 5 years)

EDUCATION

Interprovincial Standards (Red Seal) Program certification - Cook

Possession of a valid recognized Safe Food Handling Program certification

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

Experience working with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) procedures

Experience working in a correctional environment (institutional or community office)

Experience in using different software programs (Outlook, Word, Excel) in a work context

Experience as a team leader responsible for a team of employees

Experience using a foods services information management software
