You must meet all the essential qualification in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed.
The intent of this process is to establish a pool of qualified assessed candidates to staff similar positions at this group and level with various security requirements, conditions of employment as well as various tenures (acting, assignment/secondment, deployment, term and/or indeterminate) within Environment and Climate Change Canada in Toronto, Ontario. The pool may also be used to staff positions for various locations in Canada.

Education:
· Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization** in physics, geology, chemistry or some other science relevant to the position. Other sciences relevant to the position include biology, mathematics, engineering, computer science, and earth science.
**The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and must have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization.
Experience:
EX1: Experience compiling, synthesizing and analyzing scientific data from various sources
EX2: Experience in summarizing scientific and technical information and/or manipulation of data for the writing of scientific reports or technical summaries.

Asset Education:
Graduation with a Master’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization in physics, geology, chemistry, biology, mathematics, computer science, engineering, earth sciences or some other science relevant to the position.
Asset Experience:
AEX1: Experience in the use of Geographic Information Systems and mapping software. For example: ESRI GIS software suite (ArcMap, ArcCatalog etc.).
AEX2: Experience in computer programming, data structures, and algorithms
Operational Requirements:
Willingness and ability to work overtime on occasion.
Willingness and ability to travel on occasion.
