Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to establish a pool of qualified candidates which could be used to staff similar or identical positions with various tenures, language requirements, and/or security clearance levels in various Federal Government Departments or Agencies, in various locations. There may be opportunities to work in various locations in Canada, including the possibility for virtual work.

Education (Streams #1 & #2):
ED 1 – Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in education, linguistics, sociology, psychology, or some other specialty relevant to the position.

Degree equivalency

Experience (Streams #1 & #2:):
EX 1 – Significant experience* in conducting research and analysis for the design and development of learning material used to train a group.
EX 2 – Significant experience* in delivering training in a learning environment.
EX 3 – Significant experience* in monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of learning provided.

ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE FOR STREAM #2
EX 4 – Significant experience* consulting with subject matter experts to assess learning needs, determine appropriate learning modalities and effective delivery practices.
EX 5 – Experience providing advice and/or peer coaching on instructional methodologies and practices.

* “Significant experience” refers to the depth and breadth of experience and is defined as a combination of time spent doing the activity, as well as type (range, scope and complexity) of work handled related to the experience criteria.

AE2 – Master’s degree in a field relevant to the duties of the position.

AE5 – Experience working with Veterans Affairs Canada providing front line services to clients.
AE6 – Experience in liaising with government departments, educational institutions, and/or other specialized areas that would be relevant to the learning content in discussion.
AE7 – Significant experience* in supervision.

One (1) alternate date will be possible only if requested for the following reasons: 1) Medical reasons with doctor’s certificate 2) Death in your immediate family 3) Confirmation of pre-approved travel plans or training plans (made before the advertisement posting date) 4) Religious reasons or another reason that is considered reasonable by the assessment committee.

Indeterminate employees at the same group and level or equivalent may be considered for assignment, deployment or secondment opportunities before other candidates.

Preference

Preference will be given to veterans and to Canadian citizens, in that order, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
