The intent of this selection process is to staff two (2) English Essential positions on an indeterminate basis in Toronto, Ontario (4905 Dufferin Street).
However, a pool of qualified candidates will be established and will be used to staff identical or similar positions with various language requirements (such as English Essential, Bilingual – Imperative (BBB/BBB) and Bilingual – Imperative (CBC/CBC) and conditions of employment within the Department of Environment and Climate Change Canada. These positions may be staffed on an indeterminate or temporary basis.

►EDUCATION:
ED1: Successful completion of an acceptable post-secondary educational program (minimum 2-year program) in a specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
For the purpose of this advertised process, applicants must have completed the requirements of post-secondary institution graduation, mentioned above, no later than June 30, 2020.
►EXPERIENCE:
EX1:Experience working with scientific instrumentation or test and measuring equipment
EX2: Experience troubleshooting instrumentation or electronic circuits
AED1:Successful completion of an acceptable post-secondary educational technologist training program in electronics.
►ASSET EXPERIENCE:
AEX1: Experience in computer programming
AEX2: Experience in the operation and maintenance of equipment used to measure environmental or atmospheric parameters
AEX3: Experience in instrument installation, maintenance and calibration
AEX4: Experience in the preparation and handling of media used for sample collection for trace chemical analysis
AEX5: Experience conducting environmental measurements
AEX6: Experience in scientific instrument operation and troubleshooting in a chemical laboratory environment.

OPR1: Willingness and ability to move equipment and supplies weighing up to approximately 30 kg.
OPR2: Willingness and ability to work irregular hours and/or overtime, including weekends and holidays.
OPR3: Willingness to participate in field work for periods of days to weeks, totaling up to on average two months during each year.
OPR4: Willingness to travel to and work at field sites including in remote environments in extreme weather conditions and in rough terrain.
