Steps for this process
The process to file your applications requires you to:

1. Submit your resume and answer the essential and asset qualifications screening questions as well as the ability question. When answering the screening questions regarding your education and experience, please respond as if a third party with no knowledge of your position or duties was evaluating your application. Failure to follow the requested response format may result in you being screened out as the assessment board cannot make any assumptions about your experience.

2. Following the closing date of the poster, only the applicants who have passed the essential education and experiences, the assessed ability and have provided the necessary information in their application will receive an invitation for the written take-home exam. Applicants will have from March 27 to March 29, 2020 to complete the take-home exam.

3. Following the take-home exam, only the applicants who have passed the assessed abilities will receive an invitation for an interview. The interview will be conducted via Vidcruiter, an online platform that allows applicants to pre-record their interview via any mobile device with internet connection. Applicants will have from April 17 to April 22, 2020 to complete the interview.

Timelines for this process are very strict. The onus is on the candidates to make themselves available for each assessment phase.

Please note that overall conduct and communications, including email correspondence, throughout the entire process may be used in the assessment of qualifications and abilities.

COMMUNICATION METHOD: Communication for this process will be sent via email. The Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy (OSB) is responsible for supervising all estates and matters to which the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act (BIA) applies, as well as certain matters under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA).

The OSB:
→ licenses and regulates the insolvency profession;
→ supervises the administration of estates in bankruptcy, commercial reorganizations, consumer proposals and receiverships;
→ maintains a public record of BIA and CCAA filings;
→ records and investigates complaints from debtors and creditors regarding the insolvency process;
→ and ensures compliance through maintenance and enforcement of the regulatory framework.

Intent of the process

A pool of qualified or partially qualified candidates may be created to staff similar positions with various tenures (indeterminate, deployment, specified period, assignment, secondment), various security requirements, various locations and various language profiles. By default and in the interest of the greater public service, the national staffing process pool created at ISED could be shared with other government departments.

Education :
- Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, Finance, Law or Public Administration OR any other university degree combined with work experience* relevant to the position.

*The work experience must have been obtained in one of the following fields: Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, Finance, Law or Public Administration.

Degree equivalency

Experience :
- Recent* experience in interpreting legislation or regulations
- Recent* experience in analyzing or investigating legal, financial or business information
- Recent* experience in dealing with difficult clients or stakeholders
*Recent experience is defined as within the last five (5) years

Ability
- Ability to plan, prioritize and report on results

- The incumbent may be required to work overtime occasionally on short notice
- The incumbent may be required to travel occasionally
