CR-05 Detachment Services Assistant: Provides administrative, financial, and operational support services for police officers and other employees at a Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) detachment. Provides front counter and telephone assistance, services and information to the general public.
The work is being performed in a police detachment environment. This results in occasional exposure to intoxicated mentally unstable, hostile and potentially violent individuals to victims of crime or relatives of accident victims who may be distraught. The work is performed in an open office environment. It involves tight deadlines, time pressures, frequent interruptions, conflicting priorities and multiple demands from staff, callers and visitors.

*Two years of secondary school is typically completion of grade ten.
Experience providing service to the general public via telephone or in person.
Experience providing administrative support in an office environment.
Experience using word processing such as Microsoft Word and spreadsheet software such as Excel.
Experience with emergency support services such as providing support for emergency calls, emergency medical response services, or community emergency response teams.
Experience using the Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC).
Experience using the Police Reporting Occurrence System (PROS).
Experience interpreting and processing court documents.
Willing and able to work in a busy police environment, which could include exposure to unsettling and/or graphic material

The successful candidate will be required to provide original documentation of proof of Canadian Citizenship prior to appointment. All applicants for positions within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police will be subject to a thorough security clearance process which includes an interview wherein questions may include (but not limited to), reference checks, previous employment, on-line activities, credit checks, alcohol and/or drug use.
Must be willing and able to work in Ponteix, Saskatchewan.
Preference will be given to veterans and to Canadian citizens, in that order, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
