The new Flexible Workplace Program (FWP) now focuses specifically on the two forms of flexibility that are most closely linked to changing our 'ways of working' – flexibility in time and place of work:
•Compressed Work Week
•Telework*
*Definition of telework: Telework is a Flexible Work Agreement (FWA) that allows employees to perform the duties of their position away from their official (designated) place of work – in their home – for part or all of a regular work week, either on a scheduled or a less frequent and situational, unscheduled basis. The expectation is that employees would maintain the same level of effectiveness while teleworking.
Flexibility comes in many other forms at DND – The most recognized types are:
•Flexibility related to Hours of Work (e.g. start/end times) in accordance to the collective agreements
•Flexibility related to types of Leave (e.g. Leave Income Averaging, Leave without Pay, etc.)
