For every successful police operation, there is a team of public service employees providing administrative support in order to help police officers and investigators to accomplish their mandate. The work is being performed in a police detachment environment. This results in occasional exposure to intoxicated, mentally unstable, hostile and potentially violent individuals to victims of crime or relatives of accident victims who may be distraught. The work is performed in an open office environment. It involves tight deadlines, time pressures, frequent interruptions, conflicting priorities and multiple demands from staff, callers and visitors.
The intent of this process is to fill 1 term position. A pool of qualified candidates will be identified and may be used to staff future similar positions, for term, permanent and/or acting at full or part time hours.
Should a CM be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to another category for the member. CM staffing transactions resulting from this process will be administered in accordance with the Onboarding Transition Phase.

The successful applicant will have to obtain, as a minimum, an RCMP Enhanced Reliability Status. The candidate must not have a Criminal Record. The process also requires a Security/Reliability Interview, a field investigation in matters of credit/finances, education, employment, references, etc.
Assessment for this process will take place in Powerview, Manitoba. The cost to attend the assessment will be the candidate's responsibility. If you are currently employed with the Federal Public Service, please let us know your current group and level as well as your tenure and the Department you are working for. Housing in this location may be difficult to obtain. It is the candidate’s responsibility to research this location.
External candidates may be eligible for the initial appointment relocation entitlement of up to $5000 if they are not currently a federal public service employee.
Interested persons must meet the essential qualifications to be appointed to the position, in a manner determined by the Selection Board. A person may be appointed to the position even though he/she does not meet any or all of the asset qualifications, operational requirements or organizational needs. However, meeting these criteria is desirable and may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. Only those selected for further consideration will be contacted.
