This is an anticipatory process. The intent of this selection process is to create a pool of qualified candidates to be used to staff these or similar positions within Fisheries and Oceans Canada. A pool of qualified candidates will be established and may be used to staff these positions and/or similar positions on an indeterminate, specified period, acting, secondment, or deployment basis.

EDUCATION
Graduation with an undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, OR, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience *
*Acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience means successful completion of 2 years post-secondary at a recognized post-secondary institution AND 5 years recent training and/or work experience in a field related to the position.
EXPERIENCE
Experience consulting with senior industry stakeholder representatives and leading consultations with diverse stakeholders or groups.
Experience resolving complex issues with respect to the management of fisheries or other natural resources.
Experience in developing policy, procedures, directives or guidelines.
Experience briefing senior officials.
EDUCATION
Graduation with a post-graduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a field relevant to the position.
EXPERIENCE
Experience in managing human resources.
Experience in managing financial resources.
Experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams.
Experience in managing natural-resource based operational programs directly related to service delivery to Canadians.
Experience collaborating and maintaining relationships with stakeholders.

Knowledge of the key issues impacting the management of fisheries resources in Newfoundland and Labrador in the commercial, recreational, and indigenous fisheries.
Operational Requirements
Willingness and ability to travel:
-frequent travel required within Newfoundland and Labrador and Canada;
-occasional travel outside of Canada
Willingness and ability to legally operate DFO fleet vehicles or rented vehicles.
