You must be wondering – what is iCase? It is an effective information management tool for timekeeping and the progress of legal files. Given that iCase has been around for some time now, PPSC has an ongoing project to customize and extend the legal case management system.
Who uses iCase? Counsel, Paralegals and Legal Assistants. For example, iCase is used to review and vet disclosures, to update files, print reports and for timekeeping.
As an Administrator you will…
• Assist colleagues whenever they need assistance using the software. For example, you will have to guide and train them on how to correctly enter data and create files in iCase. Additionally, you will provide ongoing training and troubleshooting services to iCase users, including information assistance and advice on program capabilities for case management, timekeeping and reporting purposes.
• At times, you may have to assist the Chief Federal Prosecutor in order to provide them with specific reports, information or recommendations concerning data.
• Not to mention, you will play a key role in contributing to the development of new standards to meet ongoing needs.
The Public Prosecution Service of Canada is a federal government organization responsible for the prosecution of criminal offenses under federal jurisdiction. Our organization consists of approximately 1000 employees in regional offices across the country who all play a key role in strengthening Canada’s criminal justice system. The PPSC handles the prosecution of all Criminal Code offences in the territories as well as offences under all other federal legislation, such as the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, the Youth Criminal Justice Act, and the Fisheries Act.
Located at 160 Elgin Street in Ottawa, an office complex in downtown Ottawa and near the Rideau Canal and the Rideau Shopping Centre. This location offers easy access to restaurants, fitness facilities, walking/running paths, and parks. We are conveniently located close to major transit routes making it easy to commute from all points across the city.
The National Capital Regional Office (NCRO) is responsible for federal prosecutions in the East, Northwestern, and Northeastern regions of Ontario, as well as in judicial districts in western Quebec. The regional headquarters is located in Ottawa. The NCRO’s areas of prosecution focus are controlled drugs and substances; terrorism and national security; competition law; and other regulatory statutes.
The immediate need is to staff one (1) indeterminate bilingual position.

• Successful completion of two years of a post-secondary program with acceptable specialization in social science, statistics, library/archival work or a law-related field, OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Essential Experience:
