For this selection process, our intention is to communicate with applicants by e-mail for screening/assessment purposes (including issuing screening results, and sending invitations for written tests and interviews). Testing/interviews will be conducted at locations of the employer's choice and may require candidates to travel to the test/interview location, Fredericton, N.B.
Please note that candidates (including persons employed in the Public Service) will not be considered to be in travel status or on government business and travel costs will not be reimbursed. Consequently, candidates will be responsible for travel costs.
The immediate need is to staff one position on a term basis (6 to 12 months) and one indeterminate position. A pool of qualified candidates will be created and used to fill similar temporary and/or permanent positions with various linguistic profiles (Bilingual imperative BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC and English Essential) and various security clearance profiles.
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment prior to May 21, 2020 (deeming date), the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Furthermore, CM staffing transactions resulting from this process will be administered in accordance with the Onboarding Transition Phase until deeming day.

Your résumé.
A covering letter in 3,000 words (maximum)
• Graduation with a degree from a recognized university with a specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics; OR a university degree with a recognized professional accounting designation.
• The recognized professional accounting designations are Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), and Certified General Accountant (CGA).
• One year of recent experience* in at least one of the following functional areas: Financial Planning, External Reporting or Internal Resource Management.
• One year of recent experience* in at least one of the following functional areas: Advisory Services, Accounting Operations, Financial Systems, Financial Policy, Costing or Internal Controls.
• One year of recent experience* in the preparation and presentation of analysis, advice and recommendations to support decision-making by management, clients, central agencies, etc.
*Recent experience is defined as having performed these duties within the last 3 years.
NOTE: The RCMP is following the Office of the Comptroller General's (OCG) Guideline on the Financial Officer (FI) Competency Implementation for the purposes of this competitive staffing process.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
• Possession of, or enrollment in a professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA or CGA).
• Experience in database management using database tools such as: MS Access and MS Excel (including the use of Pivot Tables and Power Query);
• Experience in interpreting and applying policies, guidelines and procedures.
• Experience in assessing, implementing, or improving internal controls.
• Experience in budgeting and forecasting.
