The Technical Services of Correctional Service Canada, Atlantic Region, is a stimulating and dynamic environment whose mission is to ensure the operation, compliance and sustainability of a real estate portfolio in an operational environment. We are responsible for institutions and penitentiary clusters as well as parole offices and community correctional centers located throughout the Maritimes. The facilities we manage are diverse such as buildings and structures, building mechanics systems, electrical distribution networks,infrastructures, generators, oil tanks, heating plant, water treatment and purification plants, roads, fences and automobile fleets to name a few.

EDUCATION:
- A secondary school (high school) diploma or a satisfactory score on the PSC test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE :
- Significant experience in the operation and maintenance of Mechanical Systems in a large establishment (e.g. correctional institution, hospital, airport, Manufacturing industry, university,…)
-Experience in the use of various computer software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook (email).

KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of best practices for the preventive and corrective maintenance of building systems, machinery or equipment.
- Knowledge of workplace Health and Safety.

- Ability to troubleshoot system failures and malfunctions and propose solutions.

Welding certification OR Red Seal.
EXPERIENCE
Experience in the fabrication, assembly, installation, repairs and maintenance of metal items (i.e. doors, gates, shoring, motor mounts, guards, stairs, etc.)
Knowledge of methods and techniques related to maintenance of electrical equipment and systems such as fire alarms and security alarms.
Willingness and ability to work overtime when required.
Reliability Status security clearance
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 kilogram.
- Must be able to wear related Personal Protective Equipment.
