Stream 1 – Systems Support

Below are some of the responsibilities related to each stream:

Stream 1 – Systems Support
---------------------------------------
Testing Support:
• Leading the execution of system testing plans and reporting testing results as part of software implementation or change management processes.
Change Management:
• Leading the impact analyses, tracking, reporting, planning, communicating and prioritizing of changes to the Pension system change management process.
Release Management and Planning:
• Determining release content and identifying production and release schedules.
Business Architecture:
• Defining standards for system changes and proposing interim procedures for workarounds.
Production Support and Training:
• Overseeing the monitoring of general mailboxes and responding to inquiries, requests, and complaints.
• Supervising the execution of scheduled batch jobs and the publishing of monthly production batch schedules.
• Defining and maintaining the training requirements and developing training content related to Pension system changes.

Stream 2 – Strategic Planning and Integrity
---------------------------------------------------------
Strategic Planning:
• Leading and facilitating short and long-term planning initiatives for the Pension Excellence Sector (PES).
Benchmarking:
• Using benchmarking studies and internal business intelligence to identify opportunities for performance improvements within the PES.
Costing Submission:
• Leading the preparation of Treasury Board submissions and the development of business cases for Pension activities.
Data Integrity and Reporting:
• Managing requests for data extract and report generation.
Internal Controls and Audit:
• Leading and performing the internal testing and audit function of the Pension system; and liaising with the Office of the Auditor General for Pensions on audits.

Stream 3 – Program Management and Oversight

Client Relationship and Program Management:
• Leading and coordinating PES interaction, assessment and response with clients and managing service agreements with clients, Plan Sponsors and other external stakeholders.
Communications:
• Developing messages and content for inclusion in communication products; and
• Providing management and oversight of the PES printing, the Pension static website and online portal.
Pension Finance/Internal Services:
• Providing internal services for the PES including contract administration and accommodations, human resources support and business continuity.
Information Management:
• Providing information management support for the PES; overseeing PES’ response to Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP) requests; and leading and participating in open data and information sharing initiatives.
Program Excellence:
• Focus on pension administration excellence, continuous improvement and other products/initiatives.

The Pension Excellence Sector of the Receiver General and Pension Branch of Public Services and Procurement Canada is looking to staff various AS-05 positions.
