We are committed to providing an inclusive and barrier-free work environment, starting with the hiring process. If you need to be accommodated during any phase of the evaluation process, please use the Contact information below to request specialized accommodation. All information received in relation to accommodation will be kept confidential.
When you apply to this selection process, you are not applying for a specific job, but to an inventory for future vacancies. As positions become available, applicants who meet the qualifications may be contacted for further assessment.
The Information, Science and Technology Branch (ISTB) of the CBSA is trying a new approach to hire qualified candidates. If you have fully or partially qualified* in a pool, then this opportunity is for you. We are looking to create a repository of fully or partially qualified candidates who would be interested in joining our dynamic community.
What makes this repository different from other job advertisements? Applying once means you can be considered for many job opportunities. If your application is not selected for one job, your application remains in the repository and could be selected again for other job opportunities that come up while the repository remains open. As an applicant, you can also go back and update your resume at any time and change your application.
ISTB is focused on having the right people with the right skills in the right place at the right time, all the while supporting employee well-being and making ISTB an employer of choice. The continuous strengthening and integration of the ISTB’s business and HR planning processes will support efforts toward the achievement of operational excellence through higher organizational agility, performance and employee engagement.
ISTB’s strength lies in its people. We attract, develop, promote and retain the best people, offering them a safe work place with equal opportunity to succeed in a dynamic and positive atmosphere.
The intent of this process is to create and maintain a repository of candidates who are already at level or who have been fully or partially* qualified in Government of Canada selection processes. We will accept candidates from across Canada at various groups and levels into the repository.
When applying to this repository, your application is not for a specific job, but to a repository for future vacancies. As part of this repository, your file may be referred to hiring managers; however, it does not necessarily mean that a job offer will be made.
Please note that we will be considering candidates at level and those who have fully or partially qualified and are part of a pool created in January 2019 or after. Furthermore, this repository does NOT include inventories for which you have not been assessed.
The creation of this repository is not position-specific. A specific position may require an additional qualification that may not have been assessed by the selection process. The hiring manager may require further assessment, which he/she will conduct.
