The Marine Engineering (ME) Branch within ITS was created to enhance the CCG’s ability to plan, manage, execute and report on vessel maintenance as well as providing technical expertise across the country to the CCG marine engineering community. This technical support includes developing conceptual designs for the modification of existing ships, developing and evaluating technical solutions for modifications to existing equipment and systems, investigating and evaluating new and innovative technologies, developing national technical standards, providing life cycle maintenance support for equipment, and conducting technical investigations related to marine equipment and systems.
