The DFO Atlantic Fisheries Fund (AFF) is a contribution program funded jointly by the federal, provincial and territorial governments. It will invest more than $400 million over 7 years.
The program aims to help Atlantic Canada's seafood sector transition to meet growing market demands for products that are high quality, value added and sustainably sourced. The AFF Program will focus on 3 pillars:
• Innovation encourages the development of new products and technologies in the harvesting, aquaculture and processing sectors;
• Infrastructure encourages new technologies and processes to improve sustainability;
• Science partnerships form industry-based collaborations with academia and other research institutions to improve our knowledge and understanding.
This is a staffing process to establish a pool of candidates for anticipatory staffing in Dartmouth, Moncton, Charlottetown and St. John’s. This pool may also be used to staff identical or similar positions in the Maritimes Region for various tenures (indeterminate, term, acting, deployment, assignment and secondment).

EDUCATION:
Successful completion of a two-year (minimum) post-secondary education program or degree program in the area of business administration, finance, or economics, or in another field related to the position, OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:
FOR BOTH PM-03 and PM-04
- Experience* in analyzing information and making recommendations to colleagues and management in the format of a report, summary or briefing material.
- Experience* in the interpretation of relevant policies, procedures and regulations for financial matters.
- Experience* developing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with internal and/or external stakeholders.
- Experience* in using excel for creating or generating financial reports.
PM-04 ONLY
- Experience* in analyzing and preparing program data in the form of spreadsheets, presentations or briefing materials for senior management.
- Experience* in providing training on processes and procedures.
*Experience is defined as a period of a minimum of six months for those candidates applying to the PM-03 position only.
*Experience is defined as a period of a minimum of two years for those candidates applying to the PM-04 position.
