The Department of National Defence (DND) is one of the largest federal government employers. DND's role is to provide services and support to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) in their operations and missions at home and abroad. As a civilian employee, you will be an essential part of the Defence Team.
The initial intent of this process is to staff one (1) indeterminate position at Canadian Forces base Comox.
A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions, with varying tenures.

Your résumé.
Secondary school diploma AND one of the following certificates/qualifications:
a) Possession of a valid Inter-provincial Journeyperson Certification in a construction trade
and/or
b) Certification as a Technologist/Technician in any commercial mechanical related field
and/or
c) Military qualification in construction engineering Superintendent (QL 6B or DP-3B).
Experience:
*Recent and **significant experience in managing multi-trade work groups responsible for providing infrastructure maintenance.
**Significant experience in providing advice to senior managers.
*Recent and **significant experience in human resources administration such as performance management, delegating work, staffing and mentoring.
*Recent and **significant experience in using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
**Significant experience in scheduling/supervising maintenance work required to meet compliance standards and regulations for multiple construction projects concurrently.
*Recent experience is defined as experience acquired within the last five (5) years.
**Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience usually acquired by regularly performing a broad range of various, complex activities which are normally acquired over a period of approximately three (3) years.
Experience working in a military environment
Experience with other building construction trades such as carpentry, plumbing and electrical
Experience preparing reports and briefings
Experience managing a budget
Experience with Real Property Operations.
Experience with DRMIS
