We are located in downtown Ottawa, are part of the Core Public Administration and are subject to the Public Service Employment Act (PSEA). We are fortunate to have our own in-house compensation services, meaning you will have access to in-person Compensation Advisors.
The intent of this selection process is to staff various administrative positions within the Commission.
This selection process may be used to establish a pool of qualified candidates, which could be used to staff similar or identical positions with various linguistic profiles and requirements, security profiles and/or tenures.
We may appoint candidates by applying one or more of the following criteria:
• Breadth, depth, type of specific asset experience;
• Matching individual experience assets or qualifications to the need of the Commission;
• Level of one of more competencies/qualifications.

A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience
E1 Experience in providing administrative support services* in an office environment
E2 Experience managing the flow of correspondence (for example receiving, analyzing, processing and tracking correspondence, reports, electronic messages or other documents)
*Administrative support services such as: managing calendars/emails; writing agendas and minutes for meetings; scheduling and organizing meetings; making travel and hospitality arrangements/claims; ensuring the distribution, control and filing of documents/correspondence; and other related duties
Various language requirements

Note: Depending on the position being staffed, any of the qualifications below may be deemed as an essential “must have” or remain an asset qualification “nice to have”. Additional qualifications related to the position being staffed may be added where required.
E1 Experience arranging work related travel or processing of traveling expense claims
E2 Experience coordinating administrative activities in the office of an executive (director-level and above)
E3 Experience in data entry
E4 Experience in performing financial related tasks such as budget tracking or forecasting, acquisition card reconciliation or petty cash or managing financial documents
E5 Experience providing administrative support services in a Human Resources environment
E6 Experience providing contracting or procurement support services
E7 Experience providing administrative support services in the legal field
E8 Experience in maintaining filing systems and providing record support services in a records office or library
E9 Experience working in a fast-paced or high volume environment (e.g. call center, help line, marketing, sales, or surveys)
