Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff one (1) position on indeterminately basis.

A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff positions within Global Affairs Canada. Tenures and official language requirements and profiles may vary according to the positions being staffed.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post- secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics.

Note:
1. Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCES
1. Experience in establishing collaborative working relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders representing diverse interests.
2. Experience in providing oral briefings to senior management** on complex*** issues.
3. Experience in writing briefing notes and developing and presenting documents (e.g., briefing notes, memorandum for decision, policy papers, reports or presentations) to senior management**.
4. Significant experience* in providing strategic advice and recommendations to senior management** on complex***issues.

Definitions:
*Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally acquired through direct responsibility for a wide variety of complex files or projects over the course of approximately two (2) years.
** Senior management is defined as a Director, Executive Director or above (e.g. EX01) or the private sector equivalent.
***Complex means an issue that includes at least two of the following elements: multi-faceted; politically-sensitive; where there are serious financial implications; where the implications are not obvious; or which involve stakeholders with conflicting interests.
