Recently created, the Department of Indigenous Services Canada (SAC) offers a dynamic and transformative work environment. The intent is to staff the following position indeterminately:
• Director, Strategic services and Intergovernmental affairs
The process may be used to staff similar positions with Indigenous Services Canada and Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada with various language requirements and profiles, and in various locations in Canada.
All federal organizations listed in the Schedules I, IV and V of the Financial Administration Act (FAA) may use this selection process to staff similar positions in their organization.
Indeterminate employees at the same group and level or equivalent may be considered for deployment. If no deployment is made, applicants from other groups and levels will be considered in the process.

EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience
EXPERIENCE
Recent* and significant** experience in the development and implementation of programs or services.
Experience in providing strategic advice and recommendations to senior management on issues of a complex nature.
Recent* and significant** experience in strategic planning and priority setting.
Significant** experience in managing human resources*** and finances****.
Notes:
*Recent is defines as experience acquired within the last four (4) years.
**Significant experience is understood to mean the depth and breadth of the experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of various related activities which are normally acquired over a period over two (2) years.
***Some examples of managing human resources may include: supervising staff, establishing vision, priorities, work plans or establishing work objectives, conducting performance assessments and feedback, approving training, demonstrating experience in managing various service delivery and resources allocation frameworks, etc. Applicants must also indicate the number of staff they have supervised.
****Some examples of managing financial resources may include: full subdelegation for a budget, being responsible for financial planning, forecasting and reporting. Applicants must also indicate the size of the budget they managed directly.
EXPERIENCE (ASSETS)
Experience in the development and implementation of programs or services related to the advancement of Indigenous communities.
Experience in engaging, consulting, negotiating and building partnerships with internal and external stakeholders (such as Aboriginal organizations, federal and/or provincial organizations and /or private industry).
Experience in the analysis of socio-economic and demographic data.
Bilingual - Imperative (CBC/CBC)
