Intent of the process

There is an immediate need to staff two positions located in St. John’s, NL.

This selection process will be used to create a pool of qualified candidates which may be used to staff similar positions on an indeterminate, specified period (term), or acting basis with the Canadian Coast Guard

Information you must provide

Your résumé.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Certificate or diploma from a recognized educational institution as a diesel mechanic, or outboard motor certificate or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience applicable to small vessels and or small craft industry .

Experience maintaining internal combustion engines and associated components.

Mechanical experience related to working on any of the following equipment:
• Fast Rescue Craft or,
• Self-Propelled Barge or,
• Trailers or,
• Lifeboats or,
• Electrical Wiring or,
• Lifesaving appliances

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Experience in working with trades person, contractors or technical support.

Experience in conducting inspections and acceptance testing on small craft.

Experience working on trailer maintenance.

Experience in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
