Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) is the engine that powers the Government of Canada. We support the daily operations of roughly 106 federal departments and agencies. This process will be used to staff an indeterminate position within PSPC Pacific Region. The pool may be used to staff permanent or temporary (such as a specified period appointments, indeterminate or casual) Should the selected candidate already be a public servant, the pool could also be used for acting appointments.

Successful completion of secondary school or an employer approved alternative such as an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Experience working in a marine environment or graving dock.
Experience in performing general labor tasks as they relate to buildings and grounds maintenance.
Experience operating and maintaining industry specific tools used in construction and building maintenance. (i.e. hand and power tools, chainsaws, power washers).

Must maintain and possess a valid class 5 driver's license
Required to wear all applicable personal protective equipment
Willingness and able to work shift work, overtime, weekends and/or statutory holidays when required.
Willingness and able to work in adverse weather conditions.
Willingness and able to work in confined spaces.
Required to lift objects up to 23 kg. Or 50 lbs.
Willing and able to climb ladders and work at heights in excess of 30m.
Interprovincial Red Seal Endorsement in the Building trade or trades.
Boater's certification and/or work boat/boom experience.
Knowledge docking and undocking of caissons procedures.
Knowledge of environmental procedures and best practices including spill response in a shipyard environment.
Knowledge of oil boom deployment.
Knowledge of safe rigging practices and procedures.
Knowledge of operating snow removal equipment.
Knowledge of confined space procedures.
Knowledge in the use of fall arrest and procedures.
Ability to operate dockyard equipment (such as cranes, pumps, forklifts and/or tractors)
Placement of PSPC employees affected by work force adjustment. Placement of employees subject to current or future reorganization.
