EG 3 - CAD Technologists:
The drafting section produces multi-disciplined technical design and provides drafting services for all aspects of project development and implementation e.g. planning, design, construction, operation, maintenance and use of physical infrastructure, as well as subsequent updates, revisions, changes, and modifications necessary during the project delivery stages.
EG 4 – CAD Supervisor:
The drafting supervisor is responsible for managing the drafting section. This includes assigning work, tracking projects, reviewing projects for technical standards and supervising employees. The drafting section produces multi-disciplined technical design and provides drafting services for all aspects of project development and implementation including planning, design, construction, operation, maintenance and use of physical infrastructure, as well as subsequent updates, revisions, changes, and modifications necessary during the project delivery stages.
The Department of National Defence (DND) is one of the largest federal government employers. DND's role is to provide services and support to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) in their operations and missions at home and abroad. The intent of this process is to staff one EG 3 position and one EG 4 position indeterminately in Wainwright, Alberta. A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions, with varying tenures in various locations.

EDUCATION
Post-secondary education in Architecture or Engineering Technology, or an acceptable combination of education including, at minimum, a high school diploma and training as draftsperson and experience related to the duties of the position.
EXPERIENCE
EX 01: Experience in Computer Aided Design (CAD) documents for design and construction.
EX 02: Experience with commercial office software such as Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
May be required to obtain and maintain a DND 404.
May be required to work overtime.
May be required to travel.
Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by the position (must have CSA approved footwear).
Must be willing and able to stand, climb, walk, lift, bend, pull, push, grasp, reach, stoop, crouch, sit, read, write, determine color, speak and listen, work at heights from ladders, scaffolding or elevated platforms and work in hot and cold environments for extended periods of time.

CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT:
Possession of a valid Class 5 non-graduated Alberta driver’s licence or provincial equivalent.
