Education:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.
Experience:
Extensive* experience in establishing and maintaining partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
Extensive* experience in consulting and negotiating with industry, provincial/territorial governments, other government departments and relevant regulatory authorities.
Experience in providing strategic advice and recommendations, and in writing and presenting briefing material to senior management including ministers and deputy ministers (or equivalent) on complex policy or program issues.
Extensive* experience in managing human and financial resources. (Applicants must indicate the number of staff they supervised and the size of the budget they managed directly.)
* Extensive experience is defined as experience associated with having performed a broad range of related activities, which could normally be acquired over a period of approximately two (2) years.

Knowledge:
Knowledge of the use of geospatial information in the sustainable development of resources (forestry, mining, energy, water, etc.), public safety, health and safety (emergency response, disaster management, national defense, etc.), and environmental protection (greenhouse gases, global warming, natural hazards, etc.) to plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
Knowledge of geospatial data acquisition, geomatics programs and activities in Canada
Knowledge of geomatics in Canada, including policies, programs, geomatics initiatives, and key partners and stakeholders.

Experience:
Experience in overseeing the development and implementation of legislation, regulations and associated policy matters.
