This inventory is targeted to individuals who will self-declare as an Aboriginal person when applying on this inventory. The Self-declaration form will need to be completed as part of the job application under the Employment Equity tab.

This will be an ongoing inventory that will be used to establish partially or qualified candidates. A top down selection may be applied at any stage of the selection process. Applications will be occasionally pulled from the inventory on a regular basis in order to fill vacancies.

Intent of the process

This process aims to create and maintain an inventory of candidates for casual, term or indeterminate appointment, for any immediate or future opportunities within the Gulf Region of DFO. While most positions are located in our Regional Headquarters in Moncton, NB, other opportunities may arise, such as within our area offices in Tracadie, NB, Antigonish, N.S and Charlottetown, P.E.I. There might also be positions available in the Accounting Hub office in Fredericton, N.B. or at Canadian Coast Guard College in Sydney, N.S.

Program Administration (PM)
If you enjoy planning, directing, monitoring and building partnerships, come and use your skills to implement socio-economic services and programs. The employees responsible for administering the programs are the first point of contact with our clients.

Economics and Social Science Services (EC)
Do you see yourself doing any of the following: providing advice in the development of regional and national policies through public and client consultation, conducting policy research and providing regional perspective; conducting economic analysis and providing economic advice to the department and its clients; or gathering and reporting fisheries statistics and managing fisher catch limits and catch limit transfers among license holders.

Administrative Services and Support (AS or CR)
Can you easily compose in an environment where priorities are changing and tasks are varied? Do you stand out for your professionalism, your autonomy, your efficiency and your sense of organization? You are the administration professional we are looking for to provide quality administrative service to stakeholders and employees.

Financial Management (FI)
Do you stand out for your great analytical and synthesis skills, as well as being open, curious and on the lookout for economic and financial news? Do you have financial knowledge, like analyzing financial data, making forecasts, producing reports and monitoring budgets? Economic Development (CO)
If you are the type of person that likes to meet with people to explain and promote the need for conservation of fish and the protection of fish habitat, this may be the job for you. You could also be involved in the monitoring, control and surveillance to ensure compliance or halt major fisheries violations. This position could also contribute to ensuring the proper analysis, integration, and alignment of the department’s framework, domestic regulation, policies and practices with respect to the management of fisheries.
