IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO PROVIDE APPROPRIATE EXAMPLES THAT ILLUSTRATE HOW YOU MEET EACH QUALIFICATION. Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff 3 positions on an indeterminate basis within the following disciplines:

STREAM 1 - Technical Advisor, .NET Developer
STREAM 2 - Technical Advisor, SharePoint Developer
STREAM 3 - Technical Advisor, SQL Server DBA / SSRS-SSAS Developer

A pool of qualified candidates will also be established to staff similar positions within the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada with various tenures (assignment, secondment, acting, specified period or indeterminate), various security clearance levels and/or various bilingual linguistic profiles.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION EDUCATION:
ALL STREAMS

EDU: Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.

Note: Indeterminate period incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standards based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the CS group.

Degree equivalency

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION EXPERIENCE
ALL STREAMS:

EX1: Recent* and significant** experience in all phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC)
EX2: Recent* and significant** experience in analyzing user requirements and translating them into practical designs and solutions.
EX3: Recent* and significant** experience in providing technical advice and guidance to management, colleagues and clients as a subject matter expert.
EX4: Recent* and significant** experience working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams on IM/IT projects.

For the purposes of this process, *RECENT is defined as experience acquired within the last 5 years and **SIGNIFICANT is understood to mean the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of related complex activities which are normally acquired over a period of at least two (2) years.

AEX2: Experience in providing technical advice and guidance to management, colleagues and clients as a subject matter expert.

*Recent experience is understood to mean experience gained within the last five (5) years.

K7: Knowledge of the technical capabilities of MS SQL Server, including the installation, deployment, and maintenance of SQL Server 2008 R2 or greater
K8: Knowledge of the development and maintenance of applications using T-SQL
