Upon hiring, a 12-week period of mandatory training will take place from Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. You must be available during that period. No leave will be granted during the training period. Successful training is essential to the continuation of employment.

Duties

Are you interested in joining a dynamic team of program services officers who contribute to the wellbeing of senior citizens by providing services such as the delivery of Old Age Security and the Guaranteed Income Supplement?

Your role and responsibilities will be to understand, analyze and process relevant information by applying procedures and guidelines arising from legislation and regulations. Among other things, you will have to perform calculations and analyze information from individual tax returns, succession documents or civil status documents.

You will have to communicate in French in writing or by telephone with citizens to obtain information or to explain.

Work environment

In the heart of Old Québec, 330 de la Gare du Palais street is near restaurants, cycle paths, parks and trails that meander along the St. Lawrence River and the St. Charles River. The location is easily accessible and serviced by several main bus routes and the ferry, which makes it easy to get to from the greater Québec City region and the Lévis region.

You will have to be able to get to your workplace every day at 330 De la Gare du Palais in Québec City.

Intent of the process

The purpose of this process is to staff terms positions March and April 2020. A pool of qualified candidates will be established and could also be used to staff similar positions of various tenures (including acting) within Service Canada, in Quebec City.

EDUCATION

EXPERIENCE

Experience in providing services relative to the delivery of programs to the generic public, either in person with external clients, by telephone or by email, specifically involving obtaining and providing information requiring explanation or clarification.

EDUCATION

Graduation from a recognized post-secondary institution with a degree in accounting, in administration or finance.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

Experience in the performance of tasks related to accounting or financial activities and requiring mathematical operations such as filing tax returns for different types of client groups, distributing financial or insurance products and services, regularizing accounts and producing financial statements.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENT

Willing and able to work overtime as required.
