Anticipatory Process - The intent of this process is to fill a PC-02, Fire Science Analyst position for an indeterminate period with a bilingual imperative BBB/BBB linguistic profile. A pool of fully or partially qualified candidates will be established to staff determinate or indeterminate position(s) of Science Analysts in Physical Sciences in the fields of forest fires, forest ecosystems, soils, or remote sensing at the Laurentian Forestry Centre in Quebec, Canadian Forest Service, Natural Resources Canada with various linguistic requirements (imperative and/or non-imperative), language requirements (English Essential, French Essential, English or French Essential and Bilingual) and profiles (BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC, etc.), various security requirements, various conditions of employment and for various locations.

A master's degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, or a bachelor's degree from a recognized post-secondary institution combined with acceptable experience; with a specialization in biology, ecology, chemistry, climatology, forestry, physical geography, geology, hydrology, meteorology, physics, renewable resources, atmospheric science, environmental science, or another science related to the position.
Significant* experience in collecting, analyzing, processing and interpreting ecological or natural resource data.
Significant* experience in statistical analysis and the use of statistical software.
Significant* experience in spatial analysis using geographic information system (GIS) software.
Significant* experience working in an environmental science related to forestry or in another job-related science.
* Significant means a minimum of two years of professional experience. Your education in a scientific field related to the position (see Education section above) could be considered.
