The store officer - driver will drive heavy vehicles during rainstorms and snow to ensure a delegated schedule despite weather conditions.The person may be exposed to severe weather during deliveries.The physical effort required to perform the tasks varies with the environmental conditions, and the work requires receiving, distributing and loading equipment, loading and unloading trucks and trolleys, which requires standing, to walk, as well as to lift and carry frequently, without the aid of vehicles, heavy loads.The duration of these tasks is unknown, but they are performed every day and continuously. There are risk handling of chemicals and solutions that can be toxic, flammable and cause skin infections. There are also risks from exposure to objects contaminated with blood and other bodily fluids.

The Correctional Service of Canada, as part of the criminal justice system and respecting the rule of law, contributes to public safety by actively encouraging and assisting offenders to become law-abiding citizens, while exercising reasonable, safe, secure and humane control.
CORCAN, as part of the Correctional Service of Canada, is responsible for the Employment and Employability Program for offenders serving a federal sentence. CORCAN support and operates a wide variety of interventions in federal institutions as well as for offenders under community supervision. Tradesperson positions with CORCAN provide a unique opportunity to conduct duties related to the trade in a correctional environment (institution and community based), providing on the job, vocational and apprenticeship training for offenders who are assigned to CORCAN job sites. The process intent is to create a list of candidates for imminent casual needs in institutions within the Correctional Service Canada in the Quebec Region.
NOTE - casual employment means a short-term employment option to hire persons to the Public Service for a period not to exceed 90 working days in one department in any one calendar year.

EDUCATION
A secondary school diploma or equivalent approved by the employer. The equivalent to the secondary school diploma approved by the employer is a satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an equivalent to a secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training or experience.
EXPERIENCE
At least 18 months of recent experience in driving vehicles that requires a class 3 driver’s license in Quebec or the equivalent in the province or territory of residence.
Experience in handling.
Experience in operating and using a lifting platform.
Experience in using a standard computer.
Various language requirements
French Essential
Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB or --B

Training certificate for the transportation of dangerous goods.
EXPERIENCE :

Valid driver’s license – Class 3 with “F” endorsement from Quebec or in the province or territory or residence.
