A. Type of work:
QUALITY ASSURANCE REVIEW IN MECHANICAL/ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING IN AREAS THAT APPLIES TO BUILDINGS
B. Type of work which you may be assigned:
Evaluation of service fees for the mechanical and electrical group for proposals / estimates; option analysis describing solutions and recommendations; capacity and load calculations; feasibility studies; standard operating procedures; sequence of operation for building equipment; writing terms of reference for consultant’s contracts; commissioning of mechanical /electrical systems; scope of work for mechanical & electrical equipment maintenance/repair AND
Supervision of employees and employee technical support for ENG-05 group and level
C. Systems type you may be asked to work on:
Heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems; fume hoods exhaust; plumbing systems; sanitary and storm systems; filtration systems; fire and life safety components; control systems; power distribution; lighting; data and voice cabling; security systems
D. Buildings type you may be asked to work on:
General purpose office space; special purpose office spaces for high-security or high technology clients; laboratory and other special purpose spaces for research and development activities; conference centres and other public gathering spaces; museums and other similar cultural spaces and monuments; warehouses and storage structures; maintenance facilities and garages; agricultural buildings and parking structures
E. Project type you may be asked to work on:
Renovation, rehabilitation and new construction projects

EDUCATION
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering from a recognized university in one of the following disciplines: Mechanical or Electrical
- Member of an accredited body in Canada as a Professional Engineer
EXPERIENCES
IMPORTANT NOTE: It is important for the candidate to identify for which stream he/she wishes to be considered.
A. Mechanical stream:
1. HVAC system: heating, ventilation, air conditioning (air cooling) indoor air quality
2. Fire protection systems
3. Automation systems
4. Plumbing systems and piping
5. Mechanical systems maintenance
6. Commissioning of mechanical equipment
or
B. Electrical stream:
1. Electrical distribution systems; load analysis; coordination and arc flash studies; grounding systems
2. Lighting systems
3. Fire alarm systems
4. Emergency power system
5. Control systems
6. Commissioning and maintenance of electrical equipment
For ENG-03 positions:
E1. Approximately two (2) years of experience as a P.Eng. or Ing. engineer in design analysis and review, and site surveys in at least two (2) of the above mentioned areas in the stream for which you are applying (mechanical or electrical).
E2. Approximately two (2) years of experience as a P.Eng. or Ing. engineer in technical support in at least two (2) of the above mentioned areas in the stream for which you are applying (mechanical or electrical).
E3. Approximately two (2) years of experience as a P.Eng. or Ing. engineer in providing engineering services i.e.:
- Design and studies
- Plans and quotes for tenders or proposals
- Construction support
- Solving technical problems
E4. Experience as an engineer within a multidisciplinary project team.
For ENG-04 positions:
E5. Approximately six (6) years of experience as a P.Eng. or Ing. engineer in design analysis and review, and site surveys in at least three (3) of the above mentioned areas in the stream for which you are applying (mechanical or electrical).
E6. Approximately six (6) years of experience as a P.Eng. or Ing. engineer in technical support in at least three (3) of the above mentioned areas in the stream for which you are applying (mechanical or electrical).
E7. Approximately six (6) years of experience as a P.Eng. or Ing. engineer in providing comprehensive
engineering services i.e.:
- Design and studies
- Plans and quotes for tenders or proposals
- Construction support
- Solving technical problems
E8. Experience as an engineer team leader within a multidisciplinary project team.
E9. Experience in the provision of technical advice to clients.
For ENG-05 positions:
E10. Approximately nine (9) years of experience as a P.Eng. or Ing. engineer in design analysis and review, and site surveys, in at least four (4) of the above mentioned areas in the stream for which you are applying (mechanical or electrical).
E11. Approximately nine (9) years of experience as a P.Eng. or Ing. engineer in technical support in at least four (4) of the above mentioned areas in the stream for which you are applying (mechanical or electrical).
E12. Approximately nine (9) years of experience as a P.Eng. or Ing. engineer in providing comprehensive engineering services i.e.:
- Design and studies
- Plans and quotes for tenders or proposals
- Construction support
- Solving technical problems
E13. Approximately five (5) years of experience as a P.Eng. or Ing. engineer in the coordination of multidisciplinary engineering teams related to project or programs.
E14 Approximately five (5) years of experience as a P.Eng. or Ing. engineer in providing strategic and functional technical advice (guidelines, best practices, etc.) to management and clients.

The experiences will all be assessed in terms of the depth and breadth of activities, the complexity and diversity of work handled.
